At Gaines Plastic Surgery we offer a number of non-surgical treatment options used to rejuvenate the skin and enhance a patient’s appearance, including Juvederm®, sclerotherapy dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, and BOTOX® injections. At our practice in Gainesville, Florida, we can determine if a non-surgical treatment or a combination of non-surgical and surgical treatments can meet your unique needs.
Kybella® Injections
Kybella® is an injectable therapy, administered during a clinic visit, and specifically designed to address moderate to severe fat on the upper neck, sometimes referred to as a “double chin”.
The injection contains a molecule commonly produced by the body that dissolves fat cells, with no effect on surrounding, non-fatty tissues. Over a short period, the affected fat is absorbed by the body with results in the neck that are similar to liposuction, but without the “downtime” of a surgical procedure.
Dr. Gaines offers a range of injectable skin treatments. Different injectables can be used to address different issues such as wrinkles, fine lines, and crow’s feet. During a consultation, Dr. Gaines will determine the right treatment for your needs and goals.
Botox® Injections
BOTOX® injections are performed in order to temporarily eliminate the appearance of laugh lines, crow’s feet, frown lines, and other types of fine lines and facial wrinkles. BOTOX® injections are minimally invasive and require no recuperation period or down time. We will be able to determine if you are a good candidate for BOTOX® injections at our Gainesville, Florida practice or may suggest an alternative procedure to meet your needs.
During BOTOX® injection treatment, the physician will administer a single or several carefully placed injections into specific treatment areas. The BOTOX® cosmetic solution works by safely paralyzing the muscles that cause facial wrinkles to appear. The entire procedure takes no more than 10 minutes. BOTOX® injections may also be used to treat a variety of other conditions such as eye muscle spasms and excessive perspiration. Treatment for non-cosmetic purposes with BOTOX® injections will be determined on a case by case basis at our Gainesville, Florida practice.
The results of a BOTOX® injection will gradually become apparent in the next three to five days after treatment and can last as long as three to four months. Additional BOTOX® injections may be administered as needed.

Juvederm®
Juvederm® injections are performed in order to temporarily eliminate the appearance of laugh lines, crow’s feet, frown lines, and other fine lines and facial wrinkles. Juvederm® injections are minimally invasive and require no recovery period following treatment. We will be able to determine if you are a good candidate for Juvederm® injections during a consultation at our practice or may suggest an alternative procedure to meet your needs.
During Juvederm® treatment, the physician will administer a series of volume-enhancing injections into predetermined treatment areas. Juvederm® is made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. This allows patients to receive Juvederm® injections without an allergy or skin test.
The results of a Juvederm® injection will last somewhere between 9 months to a year. Follow-up Juvederm® treatments may be administered as needed, though they are usually scheduled in intervals.

Latisse®
Latisse® is a prescription solution designed to help you grow longer, fuller, and often darker eyelashes.
If you have noticed your lashes growing thinner with time, Latisse® can help to reverse these changes. Applied daily to the base of the upper lashes, Latisse® can more than double lash fullness over a period of weeks.
If you are found to be a good candidate, Dr. Gaines and his staff can provide your Latisse® from the convenience of our clinic, often at a substantial discount.
Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is performed to restore the smooth, healthy appearance of the skin’s topmost layer. The procedure is commonly used to treat acne scars, fine lines, and facial wrinkles. Dermabrasion can also be used to treat keratoses, a type of pre-cancerous skin growth. We will be able to determine if you are a good candidate for dermabrasion during a consultation at our practice or we may suggest an alternative procedure to meet your needs.
During the dermabrasion procedure, the physician will carefully scrape away the outermost layer of the patient’s skin. The physician will continue safely scraping away layers of skin until the wrinkle or scar is less visible. Additional treatments may be required, particularly if the treatment involves a large area of skin or if the scarring is deep.
When you visit our office, we will be able to provide you with more in-depth post-treatment instructions following dermabrasion. In general, it is recommended that patients do not pick at the scabs or crusts that form following dermabrasion. These will fall off naturally.
