Here at Gaines Plastic Surgery the injectable therapies we use are intended to treat fine lines and wrinkles of the face. They’re very helpful with overall facial rejuvenation. The most common and popular that most people are familiar with is Botox. That’s a medicine that we use for relaxing some of the muscles of the face. It’s very helpful in the upper face for deep lines, what we call the 11s or lines between the eyebrows when the muscles that sit beneath the eyebrows are relaxed. It tends to help smooth those lines and can help to smooth the brow overall. Lines in the crow’s feet areas around the corner of the eyes or horizontal lines across the forehead, also can be helped a great deal with the same medicine. For deeper lines in the face, we tend to use fillers such as Juvederm. Juvederm is very nice in treating what people refer to as parentheses, or the lines of the nasolabial creases, from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth. And it does a very nice job at filling in those lines. A lot of times as we get older, those creases may get deeper and more pronounced. Once those deeper lines are lightened up, it’s remarkable sometimes how much that can add up to a more youthful appearance of the face overall. Another filler that we’re using is Voluma. It’s a similar filler but intended for a deeper injection along the cheekbones and can can help to add fullness to the upper face. A lot of our patients will use these injectable treatments long-term to minimize the effects of aging. Here at Gaines Plastic Surgery, we have financing options available through CareCredit.
