During a facelift, excess skin is surgically removed, facial muscles are carefully trimmed, and other tissues are adjusted and manipulated. After the procedure is complete, it will take some time for the tissue to fully heal.
After your facelift, you can expect to experience some bruising, swelling, and pain. The area may also be tender to the touch or be numb for a brief period. A majority of your discomfort can be managed with medication.
You will need to avoid any strenuous activities for a minimum of two weeks. After your procedure, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Greg Gaines will provide you with a list of post-operative instructions.
